I have been gaming since a difficult pregnancy put me on bedrest with a new laptop during the Ultima Online beta. As a stay-at-home mom, MMOs became my lifeline, my only communication with entities more intelligent than Barney and Steve from Blue's Clues. Being a mom might have removed me from the pre-med school rat race, but it didn't curb my ambition or competitive spirit, and those thrived in the dog-eat-dog world of Ultima Online.
Since's the Age of Shadows expansion killed UO for me, I have been searching for that gaming holy grail--a modern game like old-school UO. For 10 years I waited for Darkfall, sure that it was the game I quested for. While waiting, I wandered nomadic through the mmorpg genre playing WoW, Shadowbane, DAoC, Asheron's Call, LotRO, AoC and even (forgive me!) Everquest 2 while I searched for something to fill that hole UO left in my heart.
Finally Darkfall released. Oh, I was eager, hopeful, could it be true?
Hells NO! Just..no. Don't even get me started. UGH! DARKFAIL!!!
Now I'm an angry, bitter old gamer who laughs at the eager, smack-talking kiddies in WoW who think they know what PvP really is. Retarded little munchkins who probably weren't even born when I started gaming and have no clue what skill based gaming really is! Listen here sonny, back in my day.....what? Aion is finally being released. I'll ttyl, I gotta go!
