Leigh Zaykoski is an avid reader, particularly when it comes to medical and science topics. A love of science is nothing new for Leigh; she enrolled in Biology I, II, and III, Chemistry, and Physics as high school electives and later went on to enroll in the pre-medical program at the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt, she had the opportunity to assist with research data collection at the departments of endocrinology and critical care medicine.

Student Research Assistant
Leigh has assisted with the gathering and analysis of research data for two major studies at the University of Pittsburgh. One study was under the direction of the Department of Endocrinology and focused on weight loss techniques and weight loss maintenance. The other was under the direction of the Critical Care Medicine department and involved the use of nitric oxide on post-operative ICU patients.
