Lawrence Dietz has 30 years of diversified military and commercial information operations experience. Recent assignments have included helping to develop a plan to establish a public health intelligence Center at the CDC, review of Psychological Operations Doctrine for the US Department of Defense and investigation of suspected leaks in confidential health care data. He is currently serving as Managing Director of Information Security & legal Support Services of TalGlobal
Prior to resuming consulting and the practice of law in January 2007, Dietz was Senior Director, Government Solutions & Strategy for Symantec Corporation a publicly held information security software and services provider. At Symantec he was at various times, responsible for market analysis, competitive assessments, strategic directions and assists with business development.
Previous roles have included Director, Market Intelligence at Symantec as well as senior market analyst roles with Zona Research and Giga Information Group. Mr. Dietz has been an analyst of the market for information security products and services since 1978. He has published a wide array of articles and reports and is a sought after speaker.
A licensed attorney in California and a member of the Computer Law Association, Mr. Dietz is a recognized authority in the field of Internet Security and e-business law.
Retired in April 2002 as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, he was Deputy Commander NATO’s Information Campaign in Bosnia. Previous military assignments include a variety of Intelligence and PSYOP positions. He holds BS in BA from Northeastern University, MBA from Babson College, JD from Suffolk University, LLM in European Law from Leicester University, United Kingdom and is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College.
