Kena has recently published her first solo book, 101 Mexico City Travel Tips from LifeTips Publishing. She most recently did a book signing for the book on February 27th, 2010 at Barnes and Noble at the Preston Royal Shopping Center in Dallas, TX.

Kena received her BA in English and was the recipient of the Ezra Jack Keats Memorial Fellowship from the University of Minnesota in the summer of 2003. She has published articles in Appleseeds, Skipping Stones, MundoMotor (in Spanish), and ESL Magazines. She also reviews children's literature for Multicultural Review Magazine.
