About Me

I am a Technology Consultant and certified teacher, originally from Scotland. I taught for 5 years in Scotland and England before moving to Iowa with my wife. I have lived and taught in Iowa for five years now and very much enjoy it here.

I have a 3 year old daughter, and I love spending time with her. She is full of energy and curiosity. In my spare time I am a keen photographer, and have been for about 8 years now.

My Experience

I am a Senior Writer with Bright Hub. I have a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Huddersfield in England, and a PGCE in Primary Education from Manchester Metropolitan University, also in England.

I have worked as a technology specialist for five years, at three different schools, and I endeavor to keep up with and share the latest technological advancements in education via my professional blog, The Education Technology Blog, which I started in 2009.

I also write the ioSafe company blog - industry leaders in fireproof and waterproof external hard drives - and have a busy freelance writing career that sees me tackle a whole variety of web content jobs both here and elsewhere.

To date, I have worked with a variety of clients that include Scholastic, Man of the House,PC World, Worldstart.com, and more. If you are interested in hiring me to write some content for your website, or would like to see some more article samples, check out my freelance writer website, Online Writing Solutions, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks!
