I am an elementary teacher, originally from Scotland. I taught for 5 years in Scotland and England before moving to Iowa with my wife. I have lived and taught in Iowa for three years now and very much enjoy it here. I have a 2 year old daughter, Niamh (pronounced neev), and I love spending time with her. She is full of energy and curiosity. In my spare time I am a keen photographer, and have been for about 5 years now.
I have a BA (Hons) History from the University of Huddersfield in England, and a PGCE in Primary Education from Manchester Metropolitan University, also in England. I served as a technology specialist teacher for four years, at two different schools, and I endeavour to keep up with all technological advancements in education via my own blog, The Education Technology Blog, which I started this year. I enjoy writing and look forward to sharing some articles on Bright Hub. When I get the chance, I try to update my photography portfolio on Zenfolio.
