First of all, I am a proud Mom. My daughter graduated UT Austin with a degree in Civil Engineering in only 2 years and 11 months. She is recently married and moving back to our home town in 2009.
I am also a technical author, a technology trainer, and Web site manager in the Dallas area. I've written over two dozen books, including Degunking Windows (which was awarded the IPPY for best computer book of the year in 2005), Degunking Your Mac, PC Magazine's Office 2007 Solutions, and two recent titles: Breakthrough Windows Vista and Vista Home Networking with Microsoft Press. I've written two certification textbooks for Microsoft Press as well, one for the MCDST certification and one for MCTS: Managing Projects with Project 2007. I sometimes teach computer classes at the local junior college, and work part-time as a network administrator and Web designer for North Texas Graphics. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, yardwork, exercising at the local gym, and teaching my cat, Pico, tricks.
I am a Microsoft MVP in Windows. I hold several certifications including MCSE, A+, MCDST, and MCTS (Project 2007). I am the author of over two dozen books on Microsoft technologies, several published with Microsoft Press.
10 years as a public school Algebra teacher, one year as a PC technician, two years teaching certification classes, and 8 years writing computer books, teaching computer classes, and writing technical articles for various web sites, including Microsoft's Windows XP Expert Zone.
