Engineer, Technical Services, Oct 1998 to Dec 2000

  • Carried out the Scheduling, Planning and Implementation of a time critical, chemical plant capacity augmentation project as a part of the 4 member critical tasks team. Successful completion within the 45 day plant shutdown period resulted in an increase in production capacity from 50 TPM (Tons per Month) to 80 TPM, and an increase in the annual company turnover by $4.6 million.
  • Carried out a manufacturing cost based feasibility analysis for in-house processing of agrochemicals and implemented the same, translating into annual savings of $42,000.
  • Optimized operating parameters of hydraulic, pneumatic prime movers resulting in approximately 30% decrease in energy consumption, which translated into annual savings of $19,000.
  • Designed and Commissioned process system for production of 20,000 liters/day of Pesticide formulation.
  • Assumed responsibility as a Production Engineer during Start Up phase of a 15 tons/day Continuous Isomer Fractionation system.
  • Recommended and implemented suggestions for improvement of productivity, quality, environment, safety and workforce morale as a member of the operation enhancement team.
  • Coordinated Project activities with participating departments and equipment suppliers.
  • Prepared and presented techno-commercial proposals for new projects’ approvals and for subsequent approval of proposed factory plans by government organizations for safety and environmental considerations.
  • Implemented and standardized ISO 9001 procedures for the department.

  • Managed a web based homework delivery system for 3000 undergraduate students.

Research Assistant

  • Conducted a pilot study for understanding consumer preferences for utilizing the web as a tool for online product customization.
