About Me

Well... I'm a student, soldier, and freelance writer.

I've been a student all of my life. When I'm not back in college I'm usually doing some sort of training for the military, or a new job, or just on my own to learn something new.

I've been in the military for the last nine years, first in the Air Force as a Maintenance Technician (though I spent more time fixing computers than I did engines) and now I'm an Army Reservist in the Psychological Operations field.

I started writing after I left Active Duty in 2005. Some friends of mine were working on a textbook project and they asked if I could help out as a math-checker (making sure the answers in the back of the book were correct). From there I started doing some proofreading, editing, and then full-fledged writing. Every now and then I find another project to write for.

I also started a blog to get me writing everyday. My hope is to someday be a full-time writer and teach part-time.

My Awards & Certifications

I have numerous military awards including an Air Force Achievement Medal that I got for designing a database to track maintenance efforts in a deployed environment. I also have a degree from the Air Force in Aerospace Equipment Technology, and I'm working on a degree in Computational Physics.

I have IT certifications from both CompTIA (A+ and Net+) and Microsoft (Desktop Support Technician).

My Experience

Aside from the experience noted in my bio, I've been working on computers for the last 15 years or so. In the early days, I worked on web design and then I moved into repair and maintenance. For a couple of years I did on-site installations and system upgrades for various government agencies and commercial business.

I also spent some time as a HVAC controls programmer, designing and installing intelligent building systems.
