About Me

Greg Holden is the author of more than 35 books on specific programs, Internet services, and
technologies. He blends a background in journalism and a talent for interviewing movers, shakers,
and regular folks with a love of explaining complex technological issues in words everyone can
understand.
Many of Greg's books address business issues connected with the Internet. His book Starting an
Online Business for Dummies (Wiley Publishing) recently went into its fourth edition and has sold
more than 100,000 copies. Other books such as Tips and Tactics for Running Your Business on
the Internet (Inc. Magazine) examine aspects of doing business online. Greg also wrote a user
manual for a new wireless MP3 player, MusicGremlin, a Web-based training course on business
communication for DigitalThink, and has created Web sites for several businesses. He has even
written on automotive technologies.

My Experience

Greg's books of late have primarily focused on the auction marketplace eBay. He's written
Secrets of the eBay Millionaires, Funraising with eBay, How to Do Everything With Your eBay
Business, How to Do Everything With eBay, and eBay Collector's Guide for Osborne
McGraw-Hill. eBay PowerUser's Bible was written for Wiley Publishing. Greg has also penned
books for a general audience of nonfiction readers. He explored his interest in history and literature
in Literary Chicago: A Book Lover's Tour of the Windy City, published by Lake Claremont Press.
Internet Babylon: Secrets, Shocks, and Scandals on the Information Superhighway (Apress)
detailed notable figures and events in the history of the Internet. Karma Kids: Answering Everyday
Questions with Buddhist Wisdom (Ulysses Press) enabled him to combine his spiritual interests
with his experience as a parent of two young women.
Greg has held many talks on his Literary Chicago book at libraries, museums, and other venues
around the Chicago area. He has also spoken on eBay. He is a columnist for AuctionBytes
(www.auctionbytes.com) and he has written for publications such as Entrepreneur and Inc.
magazine.

As Assistant Manager of University Publications at the University of Chicago, Greg was involved
in the public image of the University and in presenting a high-class, attractive image of the campus
to an international audience of prospective students and their parents. He was also a reporter for a
chain of newspapers in northwest suburban Chicago. He lives in Chicago with his daughters and
assorted birds and other pets.
