I'm a 34-year-old professional freelance writer, currently living in New Zealand. I've been writing professionally for almost four years, and during that time I've written on everything from Greek literature and religion to building computers.
I completed a degree in microbiology (with a focus on immunology) in 2000, which included a year-long research project on antigen presentation in dendritic cells.
However, I decided against the career in immunology research that I had originally planned. Instead I ended up becoming a freelance writer, and now I most enjoy the type of work which allows me to draw upon my education in biological sciences.
In my spare hours I play various online & offline PC games, mess around with computer parts, and watch episodes of old & new Doctor Who for the fourteen billionth time. In my youth I perfected the art of running for safety behind the couch whenever the daleks came on but I am mostly over that now.
