About Me

I'm a 36-year-old professional freelance writer, currently living in New Zealand. I've been writing professionally for more than five years and write for private clients as well as several science information portals.

I completed a degree in microbiology (with a focus on immunology) in 2000, which included a year-long research project on antigen presentation in dendritic cells. However, I decided against the career in immunology research that I had originally planned. Instead I ended up becoming a freelance writer, and now I most enjoy the type of work which allows me to draw upon my education in biological sciences.

In my spare hours I play various online & offline PC games, mess around with computer parts, and watch episodes of old & new Doctor Who for the fourteen billionth time. In my youth I perfected the art of running for safety behind the couch whenever the daleks came on but I am mostly over that now.
