My Experience
I've been in web design for an excessively long period of time. I treat it like a marriage: it's dependent on strong communication. I'm here at BrightHub because I believe that web designers are at their best when they talk about their craft. And when they're caffeinated.
I attribute my ability to write to my position as a writing consultant at a university. In an hour's time, I can read a Graduate personal statement, a narrative about a lost puppy, and a research study on lactic acid in Cross Country runners. My point: my exposure to different varieties of writing and adaptability has made me a stronger writer. I also think I'd be really good on Jeopardy!
