I live in the mountains of Western Montana, a veritable paradise for an outdoor sportsman and contemplative freelance writer. Among the many activities I enjoy out in these wide open spaces are mountain climbing, snowshoeing, snow boarding, trail running, mountain biking, hiking, and backpacking. On the wild, majestic rivers that carve through these magesterial peaks and mystical meadows, I'll either be fly fishing, kayaking, rafting, or just sitting on the banks where I'm content to let the mysteries of life flow right on by. In order to stay in shape and better enjoy all of these rugged activities which take place in remote areas where self-reliance is a must, I have become a bit of a fitness expert and enthusiast.
