
Caroline Thompson has been a professional photojournalist since 1999. She combines writing and photography in her stories. Thompson's work has appeared in the "Sacramento Bee," "People Magazine," "Newsweek" and other publications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in photojournalism from California State University Hayward (CSUH) and a Personal Trainer Certification from the Health and Fitness Institute out of CSUH. Thompson received the Recognition of Excellence in Photojournalism award from CSUH in 1998. She is a strong supporter of giving back to the community and donates a percentage of her time to the Special Olympics, the Children’s Miracle Network, the March of Dimes and other worthy causes. Her professional affiliations include ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers), NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association), EP (Editorial Photographers), NPPA (National Press Photographers Association), ADAC (Sacramento Art Directors and Artists Club), PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and she is a board member of the CETA Foundation.
Currently, Thompson is working on her MFA and exploring the role of technology and media in communications and globalization.
