Writing
In addition to Bright Hub, I also write in a variety of topics for KnowABit, Demand Media Studios, Examiner and Yahoo's Associated Content. In the spring of 2010 I managed Mahalo's GoTeam. In 1999 - 2000 I wrote the School Reform column at Bella Online.
Insurance / Home Office
From 1999 to 2007, I telecommuted two to five days a week as a liability claims adjuster for Farmers Insurance. I had a company car, cell phone, laptop, printer, and digital camera. It was up to me to visit and photograph the 50 new injury claimants I received every month. I was responsible for taking statements from all parties, for photographing the scenes of accidents, for obtaining police reports, for determining who was at fault in the accident,and for settling the injury claims out of court. Additionally, in 2005 and 2006 I was a monthly panelist at Arbitration Forums.
Teaching
I taught 7th and 8th grade remedial reading in the 08/09 school year; remedial college reading in 95/96; and high school literature, composition and ESL in 93/94 and 94/95. Since 1989 I have filled any time between jobs with substitute teaching.
Gaming
I started gaming in 1985 and am currently addicted to CityVille.
