She received a fellowship to attend the Summer Literary Series in St. Petersburg Russia in 2006. She is the first place winner of the Literary Spa Memoir Contest for her forthcoming memoir titled, SAID CHILD.

Carol has been the health editor of Hot Psychology (now closed) and is currently a family advisor at Caring.com. Carol teaches marketing, memoir, and essay writing at the University of North Florida, Jacksonville University, and the Margaret Mitchell House in Atlanta, Georgia.
