December 2008 Topics/Congratulations to November's Top Two Writers-Meetu and Victoria T.

Greetings,

Welcome to the last month of the 2008 year. December can be a time of renewal and reflection for students with disabilities; for their teachers and for the writers in this hub, along with their managing editor. I want to thank each of you for you contributions to the Education Technology-Special Education hub. I also want to extend a special congratulations to the the top two writers for November 2008: Meetu and Victoria T. who will receive an Amazon gift certificate just in time for the holiday season.

In December, the contest goes on for the top writers posting >20 articles during the month. The articles must be of the highest writing quality, substance and relevancy to the December topics of "Technology for Teaching and Learning" (i.e legislation; technology tools; communication; instruction etc) and "Strategic Instruction in the Classroom" (i.e. Cognitive, metacognition, reciprocal teaching, strategic instruction model, self-regulated strategy development model etc). Of course, you are welcome to write on topics of interest, but for the December contest, at least 10 of your articles must be on the December topics.

Again thank you writers and happy holidays. I am working on getting new Contributing Editors on-board to work with the influx of your December articles, so your articles will be previewed and posted within 24 hours. Thank you all.....

RE; November Article Formats-Please Review

Greetings,

As you write and post articles for preview and publication, please remember to check on the following before posting:

1. Make sure that titles have the first letter capitalized (i.e November Article Formats.")

2. When you create a new section, make sure that you include a "Title" for each section.

3. Article lengths are 300-500 words , so if you have longer articles (i.e 600-750 words), you can create two articles within the required length format (i.e. then you get two articles from a longer article).

4. Please remember to complete the SEO section for each article.

5. Please use spellcheck and check for grammatical errors before uploading.

6. Please write articles that are relevant and pertinent to the SpEd hub (articles on Business and Gardening are not relevant unless you're writing about the "Business of Educating Students with Disabilities" or "Using Gardening Ideas to Help Students in Special Education Learn About Science."

7. In addition, articles must be original and not rewrites or reworks of someone else's publication. All articles will undergo additional plagiarism research via Brighthub after my preview and upload. Writers who have plagiarized work will be immediately removed from the hub via Brighthub, articles will be removed and contracts will become null and void.

For the record, you are all winners in producing a plethora of wonderful articles that will continue to inspire and inform a global world. I thank each of you.

For the October 2008 contest, there is one official winner who contributed the greatest number of articles to the SpEd hub during the month of October. Anne Vize is the top article writers for October 2008. Way to go Anne for a job well done. Congratulations to you. You will receive your Amazon Gift Certificate via email next week.

The November contest is on with the top two writers for the month getting gift certificates just in time for December's holiday shopping. Let the writing begin........................

Thank you writers for an incredible October 2008 that included a wealth of Education Technology-SpEd articles. I will send another email announcing the two October winners of the gift certificates. November will feature another contest and more prizes. The November topics are "Student Learning Styles" and "Teacher Instructional Practices." Of course, you can always contribute articles of interest (relevant to SpEd please). Remember original articles only....have fun...let's make November even better than October because there will be three top writers celebrated in November.

RE: Plagiarism and Copyright Infringements-Please read

Greetings Writers,

Recently, we have had to deal with writers who are contributing articles that have major copyright infringements and are in general plagiarized. Please if you're going to write for this hub or any hub, come to the table with original articles that you have created from the inner constructs of your cognizant capacity of creativity.

Writers who are caught plagiarizing articles will be immediately discontinued as writers for the hub and your contract will become null and void. I have included an article link below written by Tracy at Brighthub dealing with plagiarism and copyright issues for your reading pleasure.

Thank you writers and remember, "Keep it Original and Real." I do appreciated your hard work and original article contributions.

Congratulations to Sukhjitsandu and Victoria for being the top two writers in the Education Technology-Special Education hub for the month of September. You both will be awarded gift certificates from Amazon next week.

The writing contest for October is on and congratulations Anne for writing the 1st article to begin the month of October. Anne was our third busiest writer for the hub, so watch out writers, Anne may be in the top two during the month of October...go for it Anne.

The October 2008 topics for the hub are "Study Skills and Instruction" and "Technology Tools for Teachers in the Classroom." Of course you are always welcome to write on any relevant topics for the hub each month. I will continue an ongoing writer's contest for the top two writers during the month of October.

As September comes to a close, the top two writers have produced some incredible articles and their names will be announced on Oct. 1. Remember, two more days to go before the top two writers are announced for the month of September. Good job to all of the writers who contributed to the hub in September and during previous months. September's topic for the hub is twofold: Instructional Strategies and Assessments and Technology in Instruction and Content. We are continuing the theme of Instruction in the classroom for students with disabilities. You are free each month to contribute articles on your specialities to the hub.

Article Writing Challenge

Greetings,

We are half way into the month of August and I would like to challenge the writing team to an article writing competition during the next two weeks that will not increase your revenue sharing, but also increase your exposure.

I actually use the educational hub with students in my graduate education classes, so your articles will not only be read, but your revenues will increase due to increased readership. So starting today, 8/16/08 let the writing competition begin. I will post the winner on September 1st and the prize.

New Writers/Writers for the Education Technology Hub

Welcome to the Education Technology-Special Education hub. The July topic of "Assistive Technology for Students with Disabilities" in mainstream classrooms will encompass the sharing of a lot of innovative and transforming technology in today's classrooms.

For new writers-As you're waiting on contracts and payment forms, please start writing on the topic in word.doc and then when all paperwork has been completed, you can upload to the Brighthub writer's template and I can preview along with the Contributing Editor (CE) for the hub and publish your article to the hub.

Welcome aboad and start writing. For writers-Please continue to upload via the template and I along with the CE will preview from that point. Remember all writers, the more you write in the new revenue sharing profit program, the more you profit in the long and short run for your work. Thanks all.

During the month of July, the topic will be on "Education Technology-Services and Resources in the Classroom for Students with Disabilities." The articles will cover the different aspects of students with disabilities and the services/resources that are needed in the classroom and beyond to provide equitable educational access in school communities.
