I was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, where I lived with my parents and two brothers until I graduated from Mercy Cross High School. I moved to Mobile, Alabama, and earned a B.A. in English. I moved back to Biloxi in 2003, but not for long. I worked as a sales coordinator for Beau Rivage Resort and Casino for about six months. During that time I realized that a desk/cubicle job was not what I wanted. I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where I lived and worked until May of 2005. A teaching job fell into my lap after I had been living in Atlanta for about a year; I began teaching and haven't looked back. I moved to Napa, California, in May of 2005 and spent the next year as a high school teacher at Napa High School in Napa Valley. That same year Hurricane Katrina devastated my home town of Biloxi, Mississippi. Later that year, my little brother died in a car accident. I moved home at the end of the school year and have been living in Bioxi since then. I am now in my fifth year of teaching, my third year of teaching at Harrison Central High School. I recently got married.
I am certified to teach English and social studies to 7th through 12th graaders in the state of Mississippi.
I taught Language Arts at Taylor Street Middle School in Georgia for one year. I then taught 9th grade, 10th grade, and 10th grade honors English at Napa High School in Napa, California. I am currently teaching at Harrison Central High School in Gulfport, Mississippi, where I have taught for 3 years now.
