A writer and theatre educator, Anna Scanlon recently graduated from NYU’s graduate program in Educational Theatre. She has written one novel, After the Fire Burns, which she is editing for future publication. The novel reached the top 5% of Amazon.com’s Breakthrough Novel Award. In addition, her play Jakob the Liar, based on Jurek Becker’s acclaimed novel of the same name, received a full production in May of 2006 at Chapman University. Anna has written supplementary curriculum at NYU and The Actor’s Company Theatre (TACT) for several Holocaust themed plays. She has also worked in the education department at Roundabout Theatre Company (one of the only not-for-profit Broadway theatre companies) and at the Off-Broadway company, The Foundry Theatre. While writing and theatre are her ways of expressing herself, she is always interested in human rights.
