My Experience

Professional Experience

  • Developing a solo show on Solar Power, slated to open Summer 2009 at Intersection for the Arts, San Francisco, CA.


•    European Sound Delta – American sound artist representative for a sound/field recording initiative presented by Collectif MU (Paris, France.)  Two “sound boats” traversed down the Danube and Rhine rivers through multiple countries, stopping in major cities along these rivers putting on sound shows, field recording demonstrations, and other sound art exhibitions.  30 other international sound artists from 18 different countries will be represented.  July – September 2008

•    Vermont Studio Center – 4-week artist residency.  Jan. 2008

•    Volunteer Sound Artist – Exploratorium in San Francisco, CA.
“The Sound Room Project,” funded by the National Science Foundation, investigating scientific information, concerning sound and acoustics, in a collaborative project involving sound artists and scientists.  The primary outcome of the project will be a traveling exhibition, media publications and live performances.  2005-2006

•    “Lost in Translation” workshop – Istanbul, Turkey.
Participated in an experimental portion of the 9th International Istanbul Biennial, involving fifty international art students from twelve different institutions.  2005

•    Visiting Artist Committee – traveled to MassMOCA, DIA:Beacon, and NYC with Dean Carol Becker, Independent Curator Mary Jane Jacob and other board members of the School of the Art Institute Chicago – talked with curators, artists and directors.  2004

•    Painting Instructor – Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago IL.  2004-2005

•    Graduate Panelist for MFA thesis critiques – SAIC, Chicago, IL.  2004-2005

•    Exhibition Director’s Assistant – Chicago Historical Society, Chicago, IL.
Created solutions for the installation and de-installation of major traveling and CHS-curated exhibitions.  Responsible for the construction of furniture, display cases and all electrical configurations.  2004

•    Co-founder of the Spiritual Underground Gallery – San Francisco, CA
Installation of work, publicity, curation and special events; individual problem-solving; team-working skills.  2002

•    Volunteer at the Marine Mammal Center – Marin, California
Rehabilitation of oceanic mammals; helped develop an informational pamphlet on the importance of wildlife preservation.  2000 - present
