First and foremost I have a wonderful wife and two great children who are the reason I get up in a morning. It is thanks to them that I have this opportunity to manage the Computer Hardware and Software Channel at Bright Hub, so that my writer pool and I can deliver pertinent technology content that is relevant to you.
In a former life I was a computer programmer and senior systems manager before moving into technical consultancy. More than anything I enjoy exploring technological advancements to see how far the boundaries can be pushed. I have a graduate degree in Information Technology, a Masters Degree in Strategic Information Systems and so many years spent using technology that it is embarrassing to count (I did at one time want to be a pro tennis player).
I have spent my entire professional career in the Information Systems sector, initially as a developer and application specialist, then moving into consultancy roles. This specialist systems work has always evolved and invigorated me to understand new technological developments. Much of my time has been spent providing technical and business analysis, training and presentation/written material. Dealing with multi-faceted, multi-million dollar IT projects has also given me a fantastic knowledge base which incorporates every phase of project life-cycling, from specification writing to go-live implementations. As a result I am in a good position to provide expert and in-depth discussion on many hardware and software products.
My consultancy work aside I provide content services of a technical and non-technical nature. As a consultant and writer I have delivered projects and contracts to many established organizations in varying market sectors. My collective writing experience has seen works published in numerous publications amongst which have been the Harvard Business Review, CNET and ZDNet Online, Parenting Magazine and Life Coaching forums. My profession dictates that I specialize in Technical and Social Sciences material, however as my skills set has become more wide spread, across varying business sectors, so has my writing style to the point where I now deliver ongoing consultancy services to Master’s Degree students in technical writing, creative writing and English Literature. Finally, I love to write and express my opinion. Not forcibly or with bias but in a way that delivers stimulating, informative content. There is no magic formula to achieve this, it takes experience, professionalism, hard work, research and a keen eye for detail. As such I hope my work provides people with the valued information and direct opinion they need.
