TqTag is a website offering tools to create PHP based websites, for developers who know HTML and JavaScript. Think it is something that will help you? Read on to find out more.
What is TqTag?
TqTag is a development dashboard for those who do not have an experience developing in PHP. As long as developers know HTML and JavaScript, they can earn money developing applications with the dashboard. For experienced PHP developers, TqTag enables developers to speed up their work, in essence doubling their productivity. Developers can sign up for free, and people looking for developers can search through the directory of developers to find someone to work on their project for them.

What TqTag claims to be able to do:
- Build a Content Management System
- Forums
- eCommerce sites with inventory control
- Banners and advertising
- Customer Management
There are many different features available to help web developers connect with clients and make money. The dashboard allows users to see the clients they are working with, the money they are making, and even to send an estimate to the client. The problem is though, much of this interface is difficult to understand. The estimate option provides jargon that can't be read, so we cannot tell how and if it works.
There's nothing to install on your computer to use TqTag, which makes it an easy program to use from anywhere, no matter where you are.
Ease of Use
Rating
While the sign up process is easy, using the dashboard to create templates and websites proved to be somewhat confusing. While it is easy to create websites and templates with a few clicks, the user interface is a bit difficult to grasp. Even in reading the help materials provided on the TqTag website, it is still hard for the average user to understand.
Users can elect to create templates, which they can choose from a drop down list. They then enter a price they'd like to charge, along with a name for the template. When the template is complete, one may publish it, but after this point it cannot be changed. Users may also elect to create a new website. The site claims you can have the site up and running within 10 minutes, but before you begin, you must have a domain name. It will provide the information for the DNS servers to point to.
Website Functionality
Rating
While the idea behind TqTag is great, we were very disappointed to see a few pages of the site were not functioning correctly when we did this review. For instance, the main site, the about page, and the user registration work wonderfully; but, finding an expert, the FAQ, and the TqAcademy don't work.
For a website that claims to help others build websites and templates, we would like to see complete functionality in place before we place a positive rating here.
Overall
Rating
While we believe the concept is wonderful, we cannot recommend this until some more work is done to flesh out the ideas and ensure the entire site is functioning correctly. Perhaps when everything functions as it should everything else will fall into place and the dashboard will not be so confusing to use.
