FireFTP refers to a secure Mozilla Firefox cross-platform FTP client. It is acquired at no charge. It provides intuitive and easy access to any File Transfer Protocol server and is in the add-on form. Being an open source and charityware application, FireFTP offers support to SFTP, FTP and FTPS. It only runs on the platforms supported by Firefox. With a FireFTP Extension, users are able to work in Portable Firefox and it gives them access to lightweight FTP client with use of Firefox’s integral functionality. It includes TLS/SSLL support, image thumbnails, file diffs, proxy support, resumes and a lot more.

Encryption, SFTP and Directory Syncing

Alongside transferring files efficiently and quickly, FireFTP also contains extra advanced features like SSL encryption, directory comparison, SFTP, syncing directories when navigating, integrity checks, filtering/searching, file hashing, drop and drag. The FireFTP add-on is a perfect choice for short ftp sessions. It is not an excellent choice for heavy data or long sessions as it adds an extra Firefox layer.

Integrated Toolbar

FireFTP has a specialized integrated Toolbar button that enables users to work easily. In order to utilize this button, it must be added to the user’s toolbar. Do this with a right click on the toolbar and select ‘Customize’ then drag and drop the button on the toolbar. For those who ftp frequently, FireFTP is the best choice for transferring files or data over the internet. FireFTP revolutionizes Firefox into a speedy and impromptu FTP application that is two-way. When installed, it can be seen on the Tool menu and a click on it brings forth an FTP tab. The tab offers a straightforward two-pane system, which allows users to make copies of files between a remote site and the desktop.

When activated, FireFTP opens two panes on the Mozilla Firefox window. The left pane indicates the system for local files, a listing of files that are in the current file directory and a directories tree. The right pane indicates the remote FTP server. In between the right and left pane lies two buttons having arrows, one for downloading and the other for uploading. FireFTP is also capable of connecting through the proxy servers. With the FireFTP application, transfer of data and files over a network has never been simple.
