When you create a Web site, you probably use Microsoft Publisher, a Web site’s template, Adobe’s Dreamweaver, or another application. However, it is possible to use a Word document or a PowerPoint presentation to create a Web page. You may want to do this if you need to quickly upload data to a Web

Save a Document as a Web Page

To open a Word 2007 document you’ve already created and convert it to a Web page (that you can ultimately publish to a Web site):

1. Open Word 2007, and click the File button.

2. Open the document by browsing to it.

3. Click the File button again.

4. Select Save As.

5. In the Save As dialog box, in File Name, create a name for the file.

6. In Save As Type, select Web Page (*.htm;*.html).

7. In Save In, browse to a location to save the file.

8. Click Save.

Issues with Word Conversion:

1. If the document contains lots of data, it may take a little time to convert the file.

2. The view will change.

3. If there is anything that Word can’t convert properly, a “Word Compatibility Checker” box will appear. One of the options is to click Continue and let Word fix the issues for you.

Save a PowerPoint Presentation as a Web Page

You can use a slide from an existing presentation as a Web page. To open an existing PowerPoint Presentation and convert it to a Web page (that you can ultimately publish):

1. Open PowerPoint 2007 and click the File button.

2. Open any presentation to convert.

3. Click the File button and select Save As.

4. In the Save As dialog box, in File Name, create a name for the file.

5. In Save As Type, select Web Page (*.htm;*.html).

Tip: Do not select Single Web Page (*mht;*mhtml). This option is best for sending a presentation via e-mail.

6. In Save In, browse to a location to save the files.

7. Click Save.

Note: You can also publish Outlook calendars to the Web.
