In this tutorial, I will show you how to add stories to your PostNuke website. If you have just recently installed PostNuke, your next step will be to start adding content. This tutorial will show you how to add content to your PostNuke site by showing you how to add stories. You will need to login to your PostNuke site and navigate to the admin section of PostNuke. In your Admin Panel, you will need to click the Content tab.
How to Add Stories to PostNuke
In the content section of PostNuke, you will need to look for the Add Story icon. Click that icon to go to the story page. Let’s go through each section of the New Story page.
Title – This is where you enter the title of your story.
Topic – You can drop this box down and select your topic. If you have not created topics yet, you can skip this part.
Category – This is where you select the category for your story. If you haven’t created categories yet, the story will be posted in the Articles category. You can go back and move it later.
Publish on Home Page – Choose whether or not you want this story published on the Home Page. Tick the field of your choice.
Allow Comments – You can select whether or not you want to allow people to comment on your story. Tick the field of your choice.
Story Lead In – This is the teaser to your story or intro. You can type what you want in this field.
Body Text – This is where your story actually goes. Type or paste your full story in this field.
Notes – You can add notes to your story in this field. Notes could be something like the copyrights or author of the story.
Programming the Story for another Date – If you want the story to publish on a certain day, you can do so using these fields. You can select the date and time that you want the story to be published.
When you are ready to post the story, you can preview it first by clicking the OK button. To post your story, drop the box down and select the Post Story option and click the OK button. That will post your story to your PostNuke site. If you want to use html code, you will need to drop the Format boxes down and select the html formatted option. Then you can use html for your story.
