WordPress offers a comments section for you to navigate through and manage the comments. In this tutorial, I will show you how to navigate through the comments section of WordPress.

This part of the series will explain how to navigate the comments section of WordPress. In the Comments section, there is only one option, that’s comments. This tutorial will explain how to sort comments, approve comments, delete comments, block ip addresses, edit comments, and more. So, let’s get started. Click the Comments tab in WordPress to navigate to the comments section.

Navigating the Comments Section in WordPress

In the comments section of WordPress, you will see the comments that are waiting for your approval and have been approved. You can sort the comments by clicking one of the three links right above the first comment. You can sort them by Approved Comments, Awaiting Moderation (which means awaiting for your approval), and Show All. Click one of the links to sort your comments.

When you have comments awaiting your approval, you will see the comment, who the comment is from, and when the comment was left. You will have three options for the comment awaiting approval. You can approve the comment, delete the comment, or mark the comment as spam. You will need to click one of the three links at the end of the comment.

If you mark a comment as spam, anyone using that ip address will not be allowed to leave comments. If they do leave comments, it will automatically be deleted. You will no longer have to manually delete the comments.

Editing Comments in WordPress

You can also edit comments in WordPress. To edit a comment, simply click the name of the person that left the comment. On the next page you will see the url field, name field, email field, and comment field. You can edit any of these fields. Once you have edited the comment, click the Save button on the right side of the window. To view the page that the comment is on, click the title of the comment. That will carry you to the page that the comment was left on.

Unapproving Comments in WordPress

You can also unapprove a comment at any time. Click the Approved comments link and you will see a list of comments that were approved. At the end of the comment that you want to unapprove, click the Unapprove link. The comment will go back into the Awaiting Moderation folder. If you no longer wish for this comment to be on your site, go to the Awaiting Moderation folder and click the Delete link at the end of the comment.
