  • Can you delete feeds from Google Reader?

A community member, Michele R. had this question:

    >> I've been trying to find out if there is a way to delete ONE article at a time from a subscription on Google Reader.  I know that I can delete an entire subscription, but can I delete individual articles?  One reason I want to know is that I'm under the impression that all of my subscriptions in Google Reader are being stored on my computer, thus taking up space.<<

To answer your question, no, there’s no way to delete a single article from the feeds that Google Reader collects.  However, if you’re only using Google Reader online, then you don’t have to worry about your feeds being stored on your computer.  They are not.

If you’re collecting your feeds with Outlook or some other computer-based program, then you might have copies of all the feeds stored on your computer. If that’s the case, you’ll have to go through whatever application you’re using to download the feeds to delete.  And you should be able to delete the feeds that you don’t want and keep the ones that you do.

I hope this helps.  If you have further questions, please feel free to email me directly or post them on the message boards on the Google channel at Brighthub: http://www.brighthub.com/internet/google/forum.aspx.
