Under the Settings tab on the dashboard is the Formatting open; chose that option. The second showing under the Formatting section will be Date Header Format and next to that title will be a drop down box where you can choose how the date will appear above your blog posts. This Formatting area will also allow you to change the Archive Index Date, Timestamp Format, and Timezone. Another area where you can work on the dating system for posts is under the Posting tab found on the the Settings menu.
