Want to know what been going at Google for past few months? Find out and enhance your Google products by taking advantage of the most recent Google Labs.

Since beginning Labs in 2002, Google and its engineers have been working overtime to find ways to make Google and its products more effective and efficient. Some labs are professional while others are more on the personal and fun side. Here are some of the latest labs Google has introduced over the past few months.

Android Scripting Environment. Also known as ASE, this feature allows you to make phone calls, send texts, and a host of other activities. There is a lot of potential with this app. Stay tuned.

Fast Flip. If you are a news lover or for any reason need to stay up-to-date with the most current news, this is the perfect lab for you. Fast Flip displays headlines of newspapers around the world so you will never be left out of the loop.

Fetch as Googlebot. A perfect lab for those who own websites. Googlebot will take a look at your page and provide useful information regarding your keyword usage and if there are hackers posing threats to your page or pages.

Google Checkout Store Gadget. Although there isn’t a dummy account or review option for this lab just yet, for those who would like to set up a store, price check, checkouts, etc., this lab is for you.

Google Listen. Allows you to listen to any audio files and podcasts. The index updates any news that you listen to regularly.

Similar Images. This lab allows you to search images as opposed to keywords. This lab is very popular with the artists.

Although not necessarily new, here are some of the most used and loved Google Labs:

City Tours. This lab allows you to set up a tour or plan an itinerary for cities, countries, or destinations you planto visit.

Google Sets. Very helpful, although I haven’t found any use for it as of yet, this lab automatically creates sets from a word or keyword you choose. For example, if entering the word “labs”, some of the results would be tools, lectures, syllabus, projects, syllabus, etc.

Google Trends. This lab allows you to view the most searched keywords, items, etc. Trends help you find exactly what you’re looking for faster and easier.

Please keep in mind these are only a few examples and Google offers a large variety of labs for Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Code, and Toolbar. To stay up to date on the latest Google Labs and others visit the Google Labs homepage.
