Google In Quotes

Google InQuotes is a new service by Google and is currently in beta status. It is accessible at Google Labs - http://labs.google.com/inquotes

What is it?

Google In Quotes is a service which lets you find quotes by famous personalities and also provides you with a link to the original news stories in which the quotes appeared. All the quotes which are listed are direct quotes which can give you a straight, unbiased view about the stand these personalities have taken on certain issues.

How it works?

Google InQuotes can be basically used to compare what two different personalities have to say on a particular issue. There are various editions like US, Canada, UK, India etc which can be chosen; each of them has a list of personalities you can choose from. You can select two personalities; then select an issue or topic and then compare the results side by side to see what comments they made on it. Each issue gets listed below the personalities and you can either "spin" it to get a random quote or use the arrow buttons to go switch the quotes. The list of celebrities and topics you can choose from are the most popular personalities with the most quotes; you can also always create your own custom searches with your choice of people and issues on which they commented.

To create your own custom search comparisions, just select the edition as Custom, and enter the name of the two personalities and the issue they were quoted on and press Search. You can also check out all the recent quotes by any personality by clicking the "All Quotes by Personality" link below his / her picture.

Google In Quotes is a very innovative tool which can be used to research anyone's views on a particular topic over the years. The interface is easy to use and minimal like any other Google product. It can be a very useful tool for college students or researchers who would earlier have to sift through a lot of news articles to get such information. Another winner from Google.
