    1. Start Small

    Even if you have a lot of advertising dollars to spend, it’s always a good idea to start small and build up the campaign. Shooting for gold right away isn’t a good idea.

    2. Use Trial and Error

    One of the best aspects of Google AdWords is you can easily use try new things without wasting a lot of money or man hours. You can quickly find out what is working.

    3. Narrow the Keyword Phrases

    The most common way to waste money is on keyword phrases that are too broad. Typically, the more specific the phrase, the better the conversion rate.

    4. Set a Daily Budget

    Especially if resources are tight, setting a daily budget is a must. When using a daily budget, you can tell Google exactly how much you are willing to spend.

    After the user clicks on your ad, they will be taken to a landing page on your website. Make sure this landing page is simple and allows for quick and easy conversions.

    If your business serves people from a certain country, a certain state or even a certain city, you should GeoTarget your ads so that you can reach the correct people.

    If you are having trouble coming up with ideas, watching your competition is a good way to find out what is happening in the industry and can give you glimpse at what is working.

    8. Use Conversion Tracking

    Google offers various tools to help you track how many of the clicks convert to actual leads or sales. Using these tools is a must to help figure out the best avenues to take.

    9. Check Reports Every Day

    Google AdWords is a very good system but it doesn’t run itself. You need to take a hands-on approach to adjust your campaigns in order to optimize your return on investment.
