AdSense is a well known method for earning money with your website. You may be looking for some methods to increase your AdSense earnings -here are 10 different things you can try.

Change the size/Place ads wisely. If the ad is too small, or poorly placed, you are not likely to have a lot of results from it. Consider taking a look at heat maps—though some say that Google’s heat map is not a good indicator—to see where the majority of clicks come in on your page. Research Gestalt Principles—visual principles of psychology—to help you decide where to place ads.

Target competitive niches. Obviously your niche has a lot to do with your website traffic, and the effectiveness of your ads. Make sure you target a market people are searching for. Educate yourself on the highly searched keywords, so you can bring people in without them even realizing it.

Blend your ads with your layout and color scheme. Ads which stick out like sore thumbs will not get clicked. People will know what you are trying to do, and will be much less likely to click the ad.You'll have better luck if ads fit in and are relevant to the website content.

Use Section Targeting in your Content. Keep your content keyword rich so you're highly ranked with major search engines. Google also uses keywords to display appropriate ads. Place ads in a few high traffic places, and on more than one page of your site for increased chances of earning clicks.

Create Channels to track where your clicks are coming from. It will help you manage your ads and the money they are earning for you. You can create them on a per ad basis or per URL basis in your AdSense dashboard.

Make sure you are using relevant keywords in your content and Meta tags. Keywords in the content and meta tags will help optimize your site for major search engines and the AdSense program. You’ll earn more traffic and have better ads.

Test several different configurations to find what works best. Move your ads around, change link colors, change ad sizes, and see what works best. If you find something did better before the change, either change it back, or try something new. Eventually, you’ll find what works best for you based on your visitor's habits.

Drive traffic to your site with a variety of tactics. Obviously the more visitors you have to your site, the better chance you’ll have of someone clicking your ads. Use social networking like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter to get the word out about your sites. Join social bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, and Bzz to get more traffic to your site.

Place more content and ads on your site. More content will diversify and expand your site, while more ads will increase the likelihood of ads being clicked. More content will give you more room to place ads without the ads appearing to be "stuffed" onto the site and its pages. Careful to not place too many ads--they are not as important as your content.

While AdSense earnings will build slowly, you should take the time to study where you are earning your money and where you are lacking. Follow visitor trends and see what you can do to change them. Use a combination or all of these ten tips and you will surely see an increase in your earnings soon.
