The bankruptcy of two of Detroit's biggest automakers, believe it or not, has been predicted several years before. The series of events that led to the ultimate filing for Chapter 11 appeared sudden and fast but, according to the author Michelin Maynard, this was actually seen as inevitable. I couldn't help but wonder how come, when the fall of GM and Chrysler was foreseen several years ago, there was nothing done to effectively avert the bankruptcy? I need to read Maynard's book and here are my thoughts.
