When it comes to working out as a teen, it should be fun. There are so many different types of physical activity that promote cardiovascular health, the increase of muscle mass and the burning of calories. There's no reason why a teen needs to work out and simultaneously be miserable. Be sure to choose something that you can keep up on a consistent schedule, something that makes you want to get up early to do or stay late after school to accomplish.
Back in the 1980s "Who's The Boss" star Alyssa Milano had a hit workout video called "Teen Steam." Yes, it was a workout video, not another type. In it, she stretched, warmed up in her bedroom, snapped her fingers to a dance stage, did a stellar dance in '80s rock star clothing in an industrial setting, then snapped her fingers back to her bedroom for the cool down. The lead song pled the teen's plight of dealing with pressure from friends, family members and teachers. It explained that you can let the pressure off by exercising off that teen steam. Well, the times have changed, but Alyssa certainly had the right idea. Using exercise as a stress reliever is a way that many teenagers deal with the natural pressures that occur in life during this time.
When a teenager is pressured to go back to overeating habits while trying to lose weight, an effective way to combat that urge is to go work out instead. Usually, after even a brief work out, a teenager is reminded of how good it feels to be on the right check. The urge to overeat just may pass after even a ten-minute walk or jog.
A dance workout routine is the exercise of choice of many teenagers. Not only will it burn a lot of calories, it lets you get up and move and groove to your favorite songs. Whether in dance class or jamming at home, simply moving to the music, this type of exercise is great. It should be done for at least thirty minutes at a time to achieve the maximum potential for fat burning and calorie burning.
Another plus of opting to dance for exercise is that it can help improve the moves you'll have on the dance floor when prom comes around. Nobody can dance until they get up and try it. There are often dance clubs in schools that you may also opt to join. If it's possible, enlist the help of a professional dancing teacher or private coach. Practice the moves daily on your off-time to give yourself the best chances for excelling and the best opportunity for weight loss.
While it certainly won't help with any fake ID endeavors (which you don't want anyway, right?), running slows down the aging process. Most teenagers don't worry about this, but you'll thank yourself for this several years down the road if you make running a habitual part of your day. It's a great way to get yourself set for a healthy lifestyle. Running burns more calories than many other forms of exercising, and it can take up less time than a class or sports game. Try picking up track at school, or you can opt to run with a group of friends. It can be a great way to hang out and catch up while doing something good for your bodies.
