Still, if you’re concerned about being underdeveloped because you’ve recently lost weight without trying or cannot keep weight on despite eating a lot, you may want to see a doctor to rule out the possibility that a medical condition could be causing your weight loss.

Even though being underdeveloped isn’t necessarily a problem, some teenage girls still want to put on weight. Teenage girls can gain weight in a healthy way, but it’s important to keep a good perspective about it: you just can’t speed up the development of your body, and it’s best to emphasize good health over good looks. Learn to accept yourself the way you are, and you won’t have a desire to gain weight to look better.

It sounds counterintuitive, but teenage girls should avoid eating high-fat, high-sugar junk foods to gain weight. If you eat too many of these foods, you’ll likely end up gaining body fat.

Instead of shoveling down junk food, eat a variety of healthy foods that contain healthy fats. Make a point of scheduling regular meal and snack times to eat your healthy foods if you find that you usually don’t eat enough during the day.

Here are some tips to help you gain weight healthfully:

  • Don’t skip breakfast.
  • Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits.
  • Amp up your protein intake: add protein powder to a smoothie, choose peanut butter for bagels, or drink a nutritional shake like Ensure for a snack.
  • You can still have junk food like soda and candy, but limit your intake of these empty calorie foods.
  • Avoid weight gain supplements. Unless you’re a body builder, you don’t need them.

Keep in mind that every body requires a different amount of calories on a daily basis. Consult your doctor to determine what that number is and how you can safely gain weight.

You may also want to add weight training to your regular exercise routine. Building muscle mass will increase your weight and change the shape of your body. When performed safely, strength training with dumbbells or on exercise machines is a safe way to gain weight.

Nicole White i understand how you feel and im the same way but i eat alot and i gain like five pounds but since im very active i still look very skinny although at this age im suppose to be about 120 pounds atleast 110 but im onloy like 90 pounds right now im sick and i cant eat alot but who cares what anybody else thinks you just know that you gain wait and that is what is to so be strong and im sure that as you get older people wont make fun as much cause you ignore them and they no that you dont care what they say i just ignore people to because i no i gain wait and i no that im skinny but pretty and thats wat i think about when somebody says something mean about me

heyaa im 14 years old and imm reallly skinny i hate it people often comment on how skinny i am and ii hate itt !! x i juss wont to put some weight on. All my friends have curvey bodys big boobs gawjuss figures && ii juss feel like a little skinny undevolped minga, I just really wont to put a stone on then i will be happy please could you help me thank youu,,,,,,

Hi, im 13 years old. I have been skinny my recent years. everyone says im too skinny & it really bothers me! even though im skinny, i have curves & im about 5'4 feet tall? the people that tell me im skinny ARE skinny but not as much as me! Sometimes I want to tell them,"Well at least I have a well shaped body, not like you that you have no body, no curves, no nothing! Some of my friends have their stomach like with body fat, and show it off! But I think its gross. Also, I hugged my friend & she said im really skinny! :( I want to know how to gain weight fast! If I gain weight will my curves be gone? PLEASE TRY TO ANSWER.thanks.
