Bee Pollen for Allergies

Allergies in children are caused by foods, natural substances, chemicals, and the environment. Environmental pathogens are the cause of seasonal allergies in children. As the child inhales, ingests, or touches any of these pathogens, they can have a reaction, known as allergies.

The reason allergies occur, is because the immune system automatically decides which objects are foreign in a child’s body. As a response, the immune system releases histamines, a natural chemical. This occurs whenever a child comes in contact with molds, pollens, dust, animal hair, or any other allergy causing substance.

Recent studies were conducted on the effects of using bee pollen for allergies. In one study, patients suffering from hay fever experienced a 75% improvement over their allergies. This occurred in 73% of the patients studied. The improvements occurred more drastically when the bee pollen was used prior to allergy season.

Children’s Seasonal Allergies

When using bee pollen for children’s seasonal allergies, it is advised that treatment begin about 2 months before summer starts. It is best to gradually introduce a child to the bee pollen over time. After a child has been introduced to it, and there is no allergic reaction, children should take about 1 teaspoon of bee pollen a day.

While using bee pollen for allergies it is advised other dietary changes are made to achieve the best results. Before beginning the bee pollen therapy it is best to eliminate wheat and gluten from the child’s diet four weeks prior to treatment. Once the treatment has begun, they can slowly be introduced back into the child’s diet. The same should be done with dairy products. While taking bee pollen, a child should receive more vitamin C than before.

While a child is using bee pollen therapy, it is important they don’t experience elevated stress levels. They must exercise regularly and receive adequate amounts of sleep. You can also teach your child breathing exercise.

While a child is using bee pollen, make sure your furnace filter is changed regularly, about every 3 months. Children should avoid foods with added sugars and sugars in general. A child should consume more fiber and water as well.
