Secondary Infections and Treatment for Ringworm

Treatment for ringworm can be highly effective when using natural remedies. Some of the main benefits of using natural remedies in the treatment for ringworms include less money than presciption medications and the lack of multiple doctor appointments.

Occasionally, cures for ringworm may involve presciption medication. These medications are given if there is a secondary infection such as a bacterial infection. A doctor may prescribed antibiotics that kill the bacteria and the treatment can last for a few weeks before results are seen.

There are good ways to prevent the need for treatment for ringworm. For instance, slippers should be worn in locker rooms and one should not share his/her towels or hand clothes when using a locker room. Also, people should dry off quickly after showering in a locker room since moisture can be trapped and create a perfect environment for ringworms.
