Water Pollution - Effects, Causes, and Types

Water pollution has been around since mankind started living along streams and discarding waste into those streams. With population water polluton growth and industrialization, the effect became much greater, leading to increased awareness of water pollution and efforts to control it in the twentieth century. Those efforts received a major boost in the United States with the passage of the Clean Water Act in 19070.
