Virtual Memory Guide

virtual memory logoVirtual memory refers to a file or partition on a hard disk that is used to complement the Random Access Memory (RAM) in a PC. Since the capacity of hard disks is generally much more than the RAM that can be installed, virtual memory allows an operating system to run more applications simultaneously than would be possible using RAM alone.

This guide shows you the difference between RAM and virtual memory, and shows you how to optimize your PCs performance by tweaking the virtual memory settings in Windows. You will also find out how to monitor the performance of your PC as it relates to virtual memory.
