The world's most favorite childhood toy, the Teddy Bear, came to public attention through a political cartoon of President Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt and the imaginings of two toy makers' continents apart. In New York, Morris and Rose Michtom created a bear for a display in the candy store window. They named it after the President. Meanwhile, in Germany, the Steiff's made the first of many Steiff Teddy Bears designed from sketches of bear cubs created by Richard Steiff, an art student. The synchronicity of these two events was the tipping point for a love affair that is now over 100 years old. Children, the world over, love the soft, cuddly, teddy bear. This guide will give bear lovers a wealth of ideas; everything from lesson plans and stories, to video games and love letters. To quote President Roosevelt, this guide is "Bully!"
