The Complete Guide to Skype

Skype LogoSkype is a free application that allows phone calls to be made over the internet. Calls between Skype users are free, while calls to landlines and mobiles are typically made at discounted rates. Skype also has the ability to make video calls, be used as a instant messaging client, send SMS messages and perform file transfers.

The Skype client is available for Windows, Linux, MacOS, and on a number of mobile devices. It is also possible to buy Skype phones, which act like a regular handset but places calls through the built-in client.
