Rainforests are forests receiving very high rainfall, between 1750–2000 mm. Rainforests are incredibly important to our ecosystem as about 28 percent of the world’s oxygen is produced through the plants in rainforests and about 40 to 75 percent of all animal and plant species in the world are indigenous to the rainforest, providing humans with a rich source of natural medicines and other benefits. Many millions of species of plants, insects, and microorganisms thriving in these dense jungles yet to be discovered, holding promise for much more breakthroughs.
The Bright Hub guide contains hundreds of well-written articles providing comprehensive information, ranging from basic knowledge to advanced information useful to researchers, students and teachers. Some of the topics covered include the different layers of rainforest explained, review of the endangered species in rainforests, the birds found in rainforest, and much more.
