Guide to Radio Signals

General Radio Signal GeneratorRadio signals are perhaps one of the most revolutionary discoveries related to modern technology, especially communications. They are named radio signals because of their early usage by radio companies to broadcast voice.

Starting from the broadcast companies, they now are used in a range of fields to send and receive data. Some examples are TVs, cell phones, wireless computing devices, GPS technology, satellite communication and more.

Essentially just electro-magnetic waves with a certain amount of strength, they are modulated with data and released in the intended directions. As the carrier wave travels, it becomes weak and cannot penetrate solid structures such as buildings and hills. The tendency of these waves to spread out as they travel, overcomes this problem.

This guide collects articles from Bright Hub explaining the many uses of these signals. Explore the amazing technology that helps us improve communication around the world!
