DisgaeaNippon Ichi Software, also known as NIS, is an international video game developer. Based out of Japan and founded in 1991, Nippon Ichi's name means "Japan's Number One." Their mascot is the Prinny, a penguin-like creature first seen in Disgaea.

Nippon Ichi is best known for their tactical RPG (role-playing game) series, namely the Disgaea series - which now has several hit sequels plus a few spin-offs, including Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero?.
