NASA, which stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is the space agency of the United States. Established in 1958 by President Eisenhower, they run planetary science and exploration missions of both Earth and the rest of the Solar System, as well as the universe beyond. They have put men on the moon, put probes in orbit around Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, and sent probes past Mercury, Uranus, and Neptune (and one is en route to Pluto). Around Earth, their most well-known satellite is the Hubble Space Telescope. They also operate the space shuttle in support of the International Space Station.
Learn more about NASA, their history, their space exploration missions past and present, the science they conduct, the technologies they have developed, and the politics surrounding what they do.
