MSN, which is short for Microsoft Network, has over the years encompassed a number of applications, websites and services including email, instant messaging and web searching. Many of the services provided under the MSN banner have since been re-branded as Windows Live. Examples include the web based email service Hotmail and the instant messaging application Messenger. MSN now focuses on providing online content through the MSN.com website, as well as proving a dial up internet service in the united States and Canada.
