Life skills include a variety of skills that are required for independent living. They include self care skills such as eating, dressing, bathing, toileting and grooming. They also include other daily use skills such as shopping, money management, and medication management, using public transportation, laundry, housekeeping and cooking. Also included in this are social and communication skills. Life skills are essential for independent living, and most people pick them up over the years. However people with physical or intellectual impairments may struggle in these areas.
