By default, Internet Explorer remembers the sites you have visited, and this list of sites is generally referred to as your browsing history. The Internet Explorer history can be used to change the color of links to sites that you have previously visited.
You can also manually browse through the list yourself to see what sites you or others have visited. Because of this the Internet Explorer history does have some issues with privacy. Internet Explorer 8 introduces a new feature called InPrivate Mode, which does not keep a permanent record of your browsing history. Internet Explorer also has the ability to clear the browser history manually.
