The iMac is a range of personal computers released by Apple. One of the defining characteristics of the iMac range is that they are all-in-one PCs, incorporating the monitor and PC hardware into a single device.
The first iMac, known as the G3 (shown in the image to the left), featured a CRT monitor and a colored translucent plastic body that came in a variety of colors. Later versions moved to LCD monitors, with the PC hardware included in either the base of the back of the monitor.
