Your Guide to Google Gears

Google GearsGoogle Gears is an open source project that provides a number of enhancements to web browsers such as geo-location, local databases and JavaScript enhancements. A lot of these features can be found in the HTML5 standard, and indeed Google is now focusing their efforts towards bringing all of the Gears capabilities into established web standards. But Google Gears is still being used to bring popular features, like offline mode, to services such as Gmail, Google Docs and more.

In this guide you will find programming tutorials that show you how to use Google Gears in your own web sites, as well as instructions on how to install it, and some examples of how Google Gears is used on the web.
