My first knowledge of Dragon Quest was thanks in part to a friend of mine who played and loved it as a kid. While I'm not that big on regular RPGs (strange seeing as I love MMORPGs), it's a graphically nice game with some quirkiness and a catchy theme song.

With so many new generation consoles coming out, sometimes it's nice to get back to those original games that we grew up with as kids.Guide to Dragon Quest In some regards, game developers and console manufacturers realize that too, so they bring back old favorites to entice both veteran and new gamers.

One of these rebirths is Dragon Quest, sometimes known as Dragon Warrior in the U.S. until 2002. First released in 1986, Dragon Quest was one of the most innovative RPGs to hit consoles and currently has nine titles in its series, producing anime and manga storylines, orchestral playings, and even ballets set to the music.

We'll take a look at this childhood favorite, the storyline, the characters and the mobs, as well as the past, present and future of the series.
